In Windows, the device ASIO driver may be set to exclusive use by default. This means that once the ASIO driver is in use by any resource, it is no longer available to be shared with another app. In cases where the ASIO driver is already in use, you can use the WDM driver that is available for your audio interface with lower buffer sizes (dependent on your system specs / drive speed for your samples / audio interface).
If the ASIO driver is your preferred driver and you want to leave the default configuration, you will have to quit any app that utilizes the ASIO driver to free up the driver to use with Peculiar Sounds v2 Standalone.
If you are comfortable making changes to your audio interface settings, here is a link that shows you how to remove the default driver setting for your ASIO device to allow shared use: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209770485-Disabling-exclusive-mode-for-ASIO-interfaces
