No sound after moving to a new computer

Got a new computer and the plugin loads, but there's no sound? You might even see the keys moving when you play, with no meter movement. This usually means the plugin can't find its samples, because the sample folder on your new computer is in a different place than on your old one.

How to fix it

  1. Make sure your samples are on the new computer. Copy the sample folder over from your old computer or external drive, or download it again from My Downloads.
  2. Open the plugin and go to its Settings.
  3. Find the sample location and check where it's pointing.
  4. Point it to the folder where your samples are on the new computer and select that folder.
  5. Close the plugin, then remove and reload it on the track (or restart your DAW) so the samples reload.

Tip: keeping the sample folder in the same place as on your old computer (for example, the same folder name on the same drive) makes moving to a new machine easier.

Still no sound? Try the other steps in "No Sound" Coming From Plugins, such as checking your MIDI and audio output settings. Remember that each license can be activated on up to 3 computers. See Authorizations / Number of computers.
